Tech Specs
The Fakie rides on SIMS MOD 5 construction—American light poplar wood with thin bands of beech wood run along the edges for increased edge hold and stability at speed. SIMS Directional Wave Form technology advances core construction further by thickening the core under the binding hole patterns, resulting in greater shock absorption, the ideal flex pattern, and quicker edge-to-edge response from the slight increase in leverage. SIMS Flexible Thin Tip tech reduces material on the board ends for less swing weight.
We run a 40mm stringer of eco-friendly I Basalt carbon fiber down the center of the Fakie to reduce chatter and vibration at speed and seal the envelope with Tri-Tex fiberglass, our most advanced 3D matrix. The Fakie gets you the goods faster with a Premium Racing base.
Traditional Camber
A single convex arc between the board’s contact points ensures predictable edge hold, load, and rebound as pressure is exerted and expelled throughout the rider’s turn.
MOD 5
By placing beech wood, which has excellent heat resistance, water resistance, a high strength-to-weight ratio, and elasticity on both sides, this Core has a significantly improved edge-to-edge response.
Directional Wave Form
Matching the setback profile of the camber, this core form is optimized for directional powder riding.
Premium Racing
This base utilizes a high-density, high-speed base material chosen for its molecular weight, which delivers unrivaled speed, excellent wear resistance, and increased wax permeability.
Flexible Thin Tip
This weight-saving technology reduces material in the board’s tip and tail, resulting in lighter swing weight which makes it easier and faster to spin and rotate tricks.
Tri-Tex
This is our most advanced matrix; a 3-way lay up that combines Light fiberglass at 0º, 45º, and 90º degrees, ensuring unquestionable pop, rebound, flex, and torsion in our highest performance boards.
I Basalt
Eco-friendly Basalt fiber material is integrated into a 40mm wide stringer which improves dampening; naturally reducing chatter and vibration at speed.
