MADNESS IN THE MOUNTAINS IS HERE!
MITM is a statewide skateboard-related scavenger hunt that happens all across Montana beginning on June 21, 2026 and runs through August 16, 2026. It is a project created by the Montana Skatepark Association (MSA), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization who has been funding and building free, concrete, public skateparks in Montana for over 20 years. To date, the MSA has contributed over $2 million dollars to skateboarding in Montana. During MITM participants use an app on their smartphones to complete missions and earn points. The person with the most points at the end … wins!
Participation in MITM is open to anyone and everyone who would like to get involved and help support skateboarding in the Treasure State. There are no restrictions of any kind. MITM is open to all ages, genders, skill, etc. Unlike previous years, we have decided to remove the fundraising challenge of MITM to focus solely on the fun skate missions, but anyone with an internet connection and a desire to support us can get involved by making a financial donation to the MSA via our support page. All funds raised are tax-deductible and will go towards building parks and promoting skating in Montana.
For the skate challenge of MITM, since many of the challenges that participants are asked to complete are location based, being somewhere in Montana, or having the ability to travel to Montana, will be necessary.
The Skate Challenge
MITM is a skate challenge that will have skaters across our state accomplishing a wide variety of tasks in order to earn points. The participants that earn the most points throughout the contest will receive prize packages full of insanely cool MITM gear possibly including branded decks, hats, shirts, wheels, jumpsuits(!) and bragging rights.
The top three skate challenge winners will win cash prizes which will be distributed in the amounts of:
1st Place = $1000 *
2nd Place = $750
3rd Place = $500
* First place winner will receive a custom trophy designed by artist Dylan Goldberger.
This portion of the contest will all take place via an app on your smartphone called Goosechase. In order to participate in this portion, download the Goosechase app. Search ‘Goosechase’ on the App Store or Google Play. Once in the app, choose to play as a guest, create an account, or log in. Next, search for Madness in the Mountains or enter the join code: MITM26 and then let the fun begin.
